Who are these courses for?

Under legislation it is an employer’s responsibility to ensure that all staff members at work feel safe by having skills and confidence to deal with violence and aggression.

These courses are perfect for all student and customer-facing staff who may have to face students, parents and customers presenting challenging or aggressive behaviour within an educational environment.

They are designed so that staff members will be able to identify and manage challenging behaviour pro-actively by providing the skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively respond to conflict within an educational setting.

Ongoing post course support

By the end of the courses participants will be able to understand and implement de-escalation strategies with a focus on early intervention. Post course participants can join a community of practice group which offers ongoing 121 and group support and further tips and strategies to assist them in their journey.

Benefits of the 2-part in house flex course training approach:

While a single large group CPD session has the benefits of reaching a greater audience, conflict resolution is a complex skill that requires ongoing development and practice.

To truly embed these skills, research recommends moving beyond the traditional one-off event and approach this as a journey.

  • Sustained impact: Ongoing support ensures that the skills are practiced and refined over time, leading to more effective conflict resolution in the classroom.

  • Practical application: Teachers have the opportunity to apply what they've learned in real situations and return with questions and experiences to deepen their understanding.

  • Long-term change: A journey-based approach fosters long-lasting behavioral change, rather than the short-term effects often seen with single-session trainings.

Flex course Session 1: Building a strong foundation
The first session will be knowledge-based, introducing teachers to key conflict resolution theories and techniques. We will also include practical tailored activities to allow participants to apply these concepts in controlled scenarios. This session will lay the groundwork, giving teachers the confidence to start integrating these skills into their daily interactions. Participants can then join a community of practice group which offers ongoing 121 and group support and further tips and strategies to assist them in their journey

Flex course Session 2: Reinforcement and reflection (2-3 weeks later)
The second session, is crucial for reinforcing the knowledge gained and reflecting on real-world applications. This follow-up allows teachers to discuss their experiences, share successes and challenges, and receive further guidance and more advanced strategies.

By revisiting the material, we can ensure that the concepts have been retained and effectively implemented, making the training far more impactful than a one-time event. Participants will have continuous access to the classroom conflict solutions community of practice and engage within free webinars and access top tip videos
